We had no winner of our Lotto Jackpot for €16,450 last Sunday night in Varley's. We had one match 3 winner - Conal Ward (Mochara, Shrule). Numbers drawn were 6-11-22-31. We have been drawn to play Clonbur in the next round of the Intermediate Championship, with that game to be played on the weekend of the 20th/21st of June. Our Intermediate team will play the Cahill Cup Semi-Final vs Williamstown next weekend as they continue to prepare for Championship, keep an eye on our facebook page for details. The Junior B side lost out 3-5 to 2-4 away to Milltown in a very wet and windy league game last Friday. We played against the gale in the first half and the concession of two soft goals from long balls was to prove crucial. Despite this we defended resolutely otherwise, trailing 2-3 to 0-2 at the break. Our two scores coming from Clive O'Sullivan and Stephen Monaghan. In the second half rain hampered the game and we struggled to get scores on the board to pressure Milltown who held the ball well against the wind. Two goals from the returning Ronnie Biggins and points from sub Brian Dunne and Shane O'Neill did see us claw back the deficit after a third Milltown goal but in the end the home team did enough to get the win.
Best for us on the day were Dylan Cunningham at full forward, full back David Hannon and Conor O'Malley at corner back.
Our next league game is away to Mountbellew/Moylough in two weeks time.
A fantastic all-round performance by Claran National School in the Cumann Na mBunscoil 11-a-side final played in Lough George this morning. After a tough battle we came out deserving winners on a scoreline of 2-8 to 2-1. Playing against Gael Scoil Riada from Athenry,they faced into the slight breeze in the opening half but got out of the blocks early to lead 0-3 to 0-0 in the first quarter.They conceded 1-1 to go in trailing at the half by one point.
In the second half they rolled up their sleeves and gave a great display of courage and football led from the front by our 6th class midfielders .Our backs were solid and committed all through as was our goalie and the forwards worked hard for their team.

Our u-12's defeated neighbours Caherlistrane in a challenge game last Sunday morning.
The u-14's are down to play Clarinbridge in the first round of the Championship this Friday at 7pm in Headford, all support greatly appreciated.
