What a fantastic weekend at Newcastle West Golf Club for the Captain’s Prize, Mr. Frank Moore. After two days of glorious sunshine and brilliant golf, the top 27 players headed out on the front nine to compete in a playoff for the ultimate prize. Great excitement ensued with many spectators on the course following their favourite golfer. In the end it came down to the wire with the overall winner Mike Meehan having to par the last hole to seal victory as his lead was whittled down to .5 of a shot. Mike produced the goods when the pressure was on and claimed the Captain’s Prize for the second time in four years. The Captain's presentation was very well supported which was followed by finger food, live music and dance to round off what was a weekend of long-lasting wonderful memories.
