Reports: St Michaels’ seniors travelled to Mountbellew on Thursday last and lost by 17 points to 1-10. An Eoin Kerin piledriver after an 80 meter run that crashed off the crossbar in the closing minutes could have been the bit of luck that the City boys needed, but it just wasn’t to be. If it was the woodwork & bad luck that denied Eoin Kerin & the Seniors, the same cannot be said about the Juniors who squandered many chances (7 consecutive wides in 2nd half) to take the spoils in their joust with Annaghdown at Westside on Sunday when they lost by the odd point in 29. The Under 15 Boys did themselves, their management & the Club proud when they reached the business-end of the Féile competition over the weekend. They topped their group with 3 wins in their group thanks to a ghood work ethic, team-work & team spirit. This group is also motoring along nicely in the Division 3 West League.
Not much happening on the Ladies’ front at the moment, probably due to exams. The St Michaels’ Adult Ladies team are training away at the moment and are pencilled in for a game against Tuam-Cortoon next week.
Men on the Move: There is a fitness programme being run by Galway Sports Partnership for the next ten weeks at The Westside track on Mondays and Wednesdays. All age groups and fitness levels are facilitated for and cost is absolutely free. Activities are for 40 minutes from 7pm sharp and refreshments are served in the Clubhouse immediately afterwards.
Fundraising: The Club will be going ahead again this year with a Golf Am-Am later on in the year. Further information anon’.
