St Michaels’ Junior team were defeated by Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the first round of the League on Saturday last. Played in Kilkerrin, information is rather sketchy other than Daragh O’ Malley was denied his hat trick by the Crossbar. Scorers: D. O’ Malley 2-1, Gary Higgins 0-4, Ronan Coffee 0-4 (2x2 pointers), Eddie Hoare 0-1 & Gavin Meally 0-1. Word is that the referee made a few mistakes, but, so did the man in Pearse Stadium on Sunday who had 7 assistants to call upon. The Juniors are down for a home game against Carna-Caiseal at noon on Sunday. Our Seniors will play Salthill Knocknacarra at 5:30 pm on Saturday next. It looked like there was lots of under-age activities in the Westside on Sunday morning. Up to 230 Club Tops were distributed from the Clubhouse, and on the pitch, the St Michaels’ & Monivea-Abbey colours were noted. Weekly Draw: Numbers drawn in this week's Peter Curran Electric Draw were: 10-17-25-30. There was no winner of the Jackpot. Paschal Tummon c/o St Michaels’ GAA Club Lotto online @ Clubforce and Sharon O’ Reilly Moycullen c/o Helen @ kelehans’ Bar & Restaraunt shared the Match 3 prize.
