St Michaels’ Intermediates continue to hold their own in Division 1 of the senior League when they scored a workmanlike victory over Milltown on a score-line of 0-09 to 1-14 on Saturday last. Brian Harlowe top-scored with 7 points (6 frees) and Jack Browne ghosted in for the goal. It was a game of the mixed bag variety with a mixture of good, bad & frantic football. On a week where linesmen attracted lots of attention throughout the country, it was no different in Fr Conroy Park on Saturday evening when St Michaels’ were the beneficiaries of a 50/50 call from the portly official that resulted in a point for the visitors. Team: S. Daly, S. Kerr, B. Madden & J. Browne (1-0). E. O’ Donnell, S. Maloney & F. Cruise. D. Hurley (0-1) & C. Gallagher (0-3). G. Summerville, E. Brannigan (0-2) & E. Day. D. Thornton, D. Cunnane & B. Harlowe (0-7(6f). Subs: C. E. Fiorentini (0-1), D. O’ Malley, F. Daly, S. O’ Reilly & M. Maguire. Regardless of the result of their final game at home to Corofin in 2 weeks, St Michaels’ are through to the League semi-final for which their opponents will be known after the final round ( a matter of the eventual placings of Corofin, Tuam, Claregalway & St Michaels’)
