Reports:

St Michaels’ Intermediates defeated Mountbellew/Moylough at a pristine Westside on Saturday last and have put themselves in with a chance of a Division 1 Senior League Semi-Final over the next 2 rounds. Mountbellew came to town meaning business and with ace marksman, Barry McHugh kicking 1-08 from 10 attempts, the home side repelled the threat with a fine performance from 1 to 20. McHugh kicked points from fress, play, marks, with the left & the right, and a goal. All that was missing were fisted points and our own Dave Cunnane supplied two of those... one for each team! Michaels’ top 3 performers were veterans Brian Madden & Dave Cunnane and young David Hurley just about won the race for the foot-long. The Half time score had the visitors in front by 2-05 to 2-07, and the final score read 2-13 to 2-12. Team: S. Daly, S. Kerr, B. Madden & C. Meagher. D. O’ Malley, S. Maloney & F. Cruise (0-1). D. Hurley (0-2) & F. Daly (0-1 1f). G. Summerville (0-1), S. Reilly (0-1) & E. Day (1-0). G. Higgins (1-4 (1-0 pen & 3f), D. Cunnane & D. Nordon. Subs: C. Gallagher, E. Fiorentini, B. Harlowe (0-1 1f), R. Mac Giolla Rí & D. Thornton. Additional side shows on the evening included: Peacock-Showing on the far side-line between linesman & visiting management (my belly is bigger than yours!), referee coaching on the near side-line, verbal abuse of an umpire by visiting supporter in our meeting room, Lotto Sellers No-Show, plastic bottle scavenging, and top class food & beverages provided by the under-staffed catering committee who also provided a low profile birthday cake.

The Juniors maintained their 100% record in Division 4B of the League when they travelled out the road to Bearna and inflicted a good beating on the home team. Team: B. Sheridan, C. Keane, J. Downes & C. Horan. R. Mac Giolla Rí, F. Cruise & C. Cloherty (1-1). S. O’ Reilly & D. Sinton (0-1 1f). J. Summerville (0-2), D. Thornton (1-0) & M. Maguire (1-3). C. Morley (1-0), P. McTigue (0-2) & E. Coffee (2-1). Subs: M. Sheridan (2-0), P. Tormay, S. Cooke, C. McNeill & C. Mannion. They are down to be away to Clonbur next Friday evening, but keep an eye on Social Media for any alterations.

The weather did the business for the Junior Bs as the going at Crestwood changed to soft to heavy and the 3XL-clad boys in white scored an emphatic 3-13 to 0-7 win over Father Griffins/Éire Óg this evening. This is possibly a first ever treble victory scored by the Club in one weekend. Scorers: D. Thornton (0-2(1f), K. Keady-Coakley (1-1), C. Cloherty (0-1), C. McNeill (0-2), C. Morley (0-2(1f), T. Curran (0-2(1f), P. Mc Tigue (1-0), E. Coffee (0-3) & K. Ward (1-0).

47 different individuals got game time this weekend at adult level.
