Senior Relegation Play-offs: Round 3: St Michaels v Killanin at Spiddal on Saturday next at 13:30. (04-11-2023)
Summary: St Michaels and Spiddal served up a game of much effort and little finesse where the two teams battled for the vital brace of points on offer for the 70 minutes of play. Both sides were guilty of a less than a 50% return on their shot ratio with 10 wides apiece and plenty more dropping short or being saved by the 2 keepers. Team members on the day were: S. Daly, E. Kerin, S. Maloney & S. Kerr. B. Madden, E. McConnan (0-1) & C. Meagher. F. Daly (0-1) & D. Cunnane. C. Gallagher (0-1), E. Brannigan & G. Summerville. D. O’ Malley, B. Harlowe (0-3(2f) & G. Higgins (0-2f). Subs: J. Browne (Blood), E. Day, S. O’ Reilly, D. Hurley, M. Maguire & E. Hoare. Their next and hopefully final game of 2023 is against Killanin on Saturday next, where some suggestions from the current format being used by the Board are that St Michaels’ must win this encounter and a draw might do Killanin. Then again.... Euclid or Pythagoras might also be referred to before the final table is published.
The Closing Date has now been extended for the County Board Draw (Win a Home) to be purchased through the Club. The Club needs your support on this initiative. See further information below under “Football Board”.
Football Board: You may have noticed by now, that the Galway Football Board have launched a fundraising initiative in the guise of a limited draw to “Win a Home” at a cost of €100.00 per ticket, limited to 20,000 tickets. We are asking all of our members and sponsors who may be considering the purchase of a ticket(s), to buy them through our Club. St Michaels’ have received an allocation to distribute in return for some discount on Board costs in 2024. . Lotto: Numbers drawn in this week’s Peter Curran Electric St Michaels’ GAA Club Draw were: 01-06-29-32. There was no winner of the Jackpot. Tom & Kay O’ Connor and Willie Grant, both c/o St Michaels’ Lotto Online @ Clubforce shared the Match 3 Prize. Next week’s draw will take place for a jackpot of €8,200.00.
