Senior:  St Michaels’ senior team had a 12 point to 7 victory over Spiddal in round 2 of the League on Sunday last. Half time score was 7-3 in favour of the City Club. Gary Higgins with 3 points,  Darragh O Malley, Eddie Hoare, & David Hurley all scored a brace with Frank Daly, Dave Cunnane & Eoin Kerin all chipping in with points from further back. Stephen Daly’s excellent penalty save was a game changer. Team: S. Daly, K. Clancy, S. Moloney & C. Meagher. E. O’Donnell, J. Downes & E. Kerin. F. Daly & D. Cunnane. D. Hurley, B. Harlowe & D. O’ Malley. G. Higgins, E. Hoare & D. Thornton. Subs: G. Summerville, D. Sinton, A. Hardiman & M. Walsh. Their final group game is scheduled for out in Killanin on Saturday 24th.

Junior A: The Junior A team received a walkover from Oughterard on Friday last and they are next scheduled to play Leitir Mór on Friday 23rd.

Junior C:  The Junior team defeated Gaeil na Gaillimhe by 3-12 to 19 points. There were some notable performances, inclusions & exclusions in Mike Hughes’ squad and they did very well to eke out a 2-point victory over a side that were no slouches in all areas of the field. A tally of 1-09 from the all-round Keith Ward saw him come in as top scorer, and he was ably assisted in the full line by Harry Brown & Mark Wynne who scored a goal apiece. Sean Neville’s comeback lasted about as long as Conor McGregor’s after he went off early with a leg injury. The side-line magic potion obviously worked as he was able to re-appear later on in the game, however Mags Hughes was quite pleased that despite both “exertions” the jersey didn’t need to be washed. David Beckam must have done a parcel drop at H91DXW2 on his way to Wembley as his boots made a cameo appearance as substitute. Gavin Hayes, despite sticking rigidly to his self-imposed travel restrictions, (Between the 45 & 65 only) still managed to gather a fair few possessions and Molly Hoare reached higher than any crane on the Dublin Skyline for one massive fetch. Tom Hiney Stephen Kerr and Pat Walsh were other to shine as well as Nathan Boles who kept a clean sheet. Team: N. Boles, S. Neville, F. McKeague & T. Hiney. S.kerr, D. O’ Brien & L. Murphy. P. Mulkerrin & P. Walshe. D. Flaherty/Shaw, PJ McTigue & R. Gill. H. Browne, K. Ward & M. Wynne. Subs: P. Casey, G. Hayes & M. Hoare. Their next outing is against Bearna, but date is not yet known.

Under 17: This age group are on a little break until August 11th.

Under 15: The St Michaels’ Under 15 team had a fine 7-12 to 4-10 victory over Clifden on Friday last. Their next game is away to St James’ on Friday week (July 23rd).
