We defeated a tough battle hardened Golden Kilfeacle side in the west final on Sunday 18th in Cashel. Golden opened the scoring however we replied with a smartly finished goal from Brian Carey capitalising on hard work from Declan Hickey which saw us take the lead. We maintained control throughout however were a point in arrears at the 40 minute mark. We began then running at the Golden defence which paid dividends as we made our dominance count on the score board. The result was copper fastened by a fantastic finish to the net from Patrick Carey and a solo point from the wing by Tom Hickey. The final whistle blew to herald wild celebrations on a scoreline of 2-13 to 0-09

Subs used: Donnacha O’Brien, Mark Hogan, Seamus Carey, John Butler, Willie Mackey. We now progress to the preliminary quarter final where we play Cappawhite on Sunday 3rd October in Dundrum at 3pm. We also wish the best of luck to our excellent U16 team in combination with Emly who take on Burgess in the county semi-final at 12 noon in Newport on Saturday 2nd October.
