Jimmy Murray Memorial Weekend
There are a host of events planned for the weekend of the unveiling of the statue of Jimmy Murray.
On Saturday 30th in Cullen Hall at 8pm there are two historical talks. Tony Conboy will bring us through the history of the 1943/44/46 Roscommon teams whilst Dr. Regina Donlon will talk about the social history of the area during the emergency.
On Sunday December the 1st there will be a mass of Remembrance at St. Patrick’s Church at 12.30pm followed by a parade to the village green which will be led by the Artane Band and representatives of the 32 clubs of the county. This will be followed by a musical recital, speeches and the unveiling. We are delighted to be welcoming president of the GAA, Jarlath Burns, to the village for the event.
All are welcome to all events.
As parking will be limited please try and carpool on the day
