On the sports front last Sunday evening in Bansha the Golden seniors drew with Bansha in the Crosco cup in . The final score was 2-10 apiece. Both sides were short a number of regulars coming into the game and this seemed to take from the intensity of the game. Our lads started well with early points from John Colohan, Mick Harding and Damien Fogarty. Bansha however began to get into their stride and the sides were even at 0-3 apiece after fifteen minutes. However our lads then got a lucky break when a long ball from Brendan Moloney seemed to deceive the Bansha keeper and went all the way to the net. Both sides exchanged points to leave the half time score Golden 1-5 Bansha 0-5. On the resumption both sides made changes, Golden had some early scores from lively corner forward James O Connell and from frees from Michael Harding. Golden got a great goal which should have finished the game when James O Connell finished to the net after a goalmouth scramble. However from this moment to the finish Bansha dominated proceedings and with the last puck of the game a point from the impressive Pat Marnane earned them a deserved draw

Fixtures coming up this weekend-

This week coming, the Golden Intermediates play Cappawhite in the county league football final Friday night, possibly in New Inn, best of luck to all involved. The Junior B’s also kick off their campaign with the opening match taking place in Tipp town Saturday evening. Hopefully then the senior hurlers will have a challenge match Sunday morning before the Tipp game.

Hard luck to James Tierney and the Tipp senior footballers who were narrowly beaten by Limerick last Sunday in Semple Stadium, they now enter the All Ireland qualifier system where hopefully they can achieve success.

Bingo continues this Thursday night in the new sports hall

All are welcome
