On the sports front our u/21 footballers were beaten by Rockwell Rovers in the West semi final. Golden 2-4 Rockwell 1-11. In a very close game all through, a lucky goal at the start of the second half by Rockwell proved to be the difference between the sides, Golden who were lining out without a few key players, played very well all through, we now wish them the best of lcuk in the U/21 campaign which kicks off in April. Our senior hurlers also played thier first competitive game of the year in the county league when they took on Ballybacon /Grange in Goatenbridge last Sunday, final score Golden 0-13 Ballybacon 1-10. In a keenly contested game both sides had chances to win it but in the end a draw was probaly the fairest resullt. Jimbob McCarthy was topscorer for golden with 0-10 over the hour. He also captains the team this year and we wish him the best of luck.
