GAA CLUB NOTES

Last Thursday the U19’s hosted Dunmore MacHales at Corofin Pitch for Round 2 of the U19A North Football League. It was a difficult game for the lads, however their effort right through to the final whistle was massive. Final score was Corofin 0-08 Dunmore MacHales 0-14.

On Sunday the Junior A team (4th adult team) played Claregalway in Group 3 of the Cahill Cup. The game was played in very strong winds and it was Claregalway who adapted better. Despite a rocket goal from Brian Costello, it was not enough to inspire a win on the day. The final score stood at Corofin 1-03 Claregalway 3-07.

On Friday coming, the Senior team host Mountbellew/Moylough at Corofin Pitch at 8:00pm for Round 3 of Division 1. On Saturday, the Intermediates travel to St James’s for Round 3 of Division 3A, throw-in at 6:00pm. On Sunday, the Junior’s travel to Ballymacward to play Pádraig Pearses at 12:00pm for Round 3 of Division 4B. Also on Sunday the Junior D team (5th adult team) are away to Kilconly for their first competitive game of the season with Round 1 of the Junior D Football Championship – North.

Plenty of fixtures over the weekend and your support for players, especially home games, is very much appreciated.

LGFA CLUB NOTES

On Sunday the Third team hosted Claregalway C in Corofin in Division 8. It was a closely contested game with goals coming from Emma Burke (x2) and Lorraine Ryder. Unfortunately the game game finished Corofin 3-07 Claregalway 4-08.

This Friday the Third team are in action again as they are away to Loughrea at 7:00pm for Round 2 of Division 8. On Sunday the Second team are away to Kilconly at 6:00pm for Round 2 of Division 4.
