GAA CLUB NOTES
The Senior team played their Division 1 Round 2 game against Claregalway on Friday evening. An unfortunate result for the Senior team last night in Knockdoemore. After an impressive opening 15 minutes, the game gradually got away from us. The final scoreline was Corofin 0-07 Claregalway 2-10.
On Saturday afternoon the Intermediates played their Division 3A Round 2 game against Glenamaddy, in Corofin pitch. A spirited performance from the lads and it was a great game for the spectator as both teams played for the win and nothing less would do. At the final whistle it was Glenamaddy who were victorious with the scoreline at Corofin 0-12 Glenamaddy 2-09.
On Sunday afternoon the Junior A team played their Round 2 game of the Cahill Cup as they hosted Caltra in Corofin. It was another tight affair as both Corofin and Caltra took impressive scores, however it was Caltra who ran out winners with two goals making the difference. The game finished Corofin 0-09 Caltra 2-09.
LGFA CLUB NOTES
The leagues got underway this week as the Junior B team got their Division 4 campaign off to a flying start in Corofin pitch last Friday evening against St Mary’s of Killererin. Every player put in a great shift, never giving up and always supported each other. Huge credit to the young girls whom stepped up to adult football, and to the ladies that just came back to football again. Overall a great team performance. Final score was Corofin 3-17 St Mary’s 2-06. Goals from Louise Reilly, Emma Burke and Rachel Burke.
