GAA CLUB NOTES

Last Thursday the Junior team travelled to Clonbur to play against Naomh Pádraig, Clonbur for the Quarter-Final of Division 4B. It was a great game and a fantastic performance from the Juniors as they beat Clonbur 2-13 to 1-11. They are now through to the Division 4B Semi Final against Caherlistrane.

The Senior team hosted St Michael’s in Corofin on Friday for the Semi-Final of Division 1. In wet and heavy conditions the game was tight for the first half with the teams level at the break. The second half saw a gap open up between the teams and the game finished up Corofin 1-14 St. Michael’s 2-05. Goal from Ciaran Brady. It was great also to see the return of Kieran Molloy to action after injury. They are now through to the Division 1 Final against Tuam Stars.

The Intermediate team travelled to Mervue to play St James’ on Saturday for the Semi-Final of Division 3A. It was a difficult 1st half for the lads with St. James’ leading by 4 points at half-time. It was a massive effort from all the players for the second half and they turned the game around, finishing on a winning scoreline of Corofin 1-10 St. James’ 2-6. Goal from Conor Brady. They are now through to the Division 3A Final against Oughterard.

The Junior A game against Oranmore-Maree fixed for last Monday was postponed until next Monday, details to be confirmed.

Hard luck to the Galway Seniors on Sunday who lost out to Armagh in the final game of All-Ireland Football Championship Group 2. They now face Mayo in Pearse Stadium next Sunday for the Preliminary Quarter-Final of the All-Ireland Football Championship. Good luck to Club players Bernard Power, Dylan McHugh, Kieran Molloy and Ian Burke.
