CLUB CELEBRATION NIGHT
The Club had its Celebration Night last Friday night in the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway. It was a fantastic night, enjoyed by all who attended. Medals were presented to the u-19 panel from 2022 for their County Championship win, the Junior Ladies on their League and Championship success, the 1998 Senior team marked their 25th Anniversary of their All-Ireland title and the 2019 & 2020 Senior panels were awarded their medals for their years of the 3-in-a-row success of All-Ireland titles.
A sincere thank you to Event Sponsor Western Hygiene and all our table sponsors for their generous contributions, without whom the night would not have been possible. It was an honor to host special guests Larry McCarthy - President of the GAA, Tom Kelly – Connacht GAA, Paul Bellew – Chairperson Galway GAA, Seamus Grady – Secretary Galway GAA and Joe Brolly - GAA legend.
A big thank you also to the Organising Committee, considering all that was to be awarded on the night it ran very smoothly which added to the everyone’s enjoyment of the night.
GAA CLUB NOTES
On Thursday the Junior team host Loughrea in Corofin at 8:00pm for Division 4B Round 7. On Friday evening the Senior team are away to St. Michael’s in Westside at 8:00pm for Division 1 Round 7. On Sunday afternoon the Intermediates are away to St. James’s in Mervue at 1:00pm for Division 3A Round 7. On Monday the Junior A team are away to Milltown at 6:30pm for Junior A Football Championship Round 3. On Tuesday the Junior D team host Milltown in Corofin at 8:00pm for Junior D Football Championship Round 4

The Galway Senior play Westmeath on Saturday at TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar at 5:00pm for Round 2 of their All-Ireland Championship Group 2. Best of luck to Club players Bernard Power, Dylan McHugh, Kieran Molloy and Ian Burke.
LGFA CLUB NOTES
The Senior team played Kilkerrin-Clonberne on Saturday in Division 1. It was a great contest between two very strong teams. It ended in a draw; 0-13 to 2-07. The Junior B team played Mountbellew-Moylough on Sunday for Round 7 of Division 5 game on Sunday. It was a fantastic performance by the girls, getting the win with a final scoreline of 4-14 to 3-9. Goals from Louise Reilly (x3) and Heather O’Leary. Well done to the players and Management.
UNDERAGE
The u7 boys had their first Go Games in Barna on Saturday morning. Thank you to Barna for hosting and the boys had a great time, plenty of smiles and skills on show. Well done boys.
The u16 girls team played Dunmore in Division 2. It was a game full of goals and effort with the girls eventually winning by 6 points, Corofin 7-8 Dunmore 2-17. The u14 girls played St Fursey’s in Division 6 and had a great win over a very strong Fursey’s team. Corofin 6-11 St Fursey’s 3-4.
The u12 girls Blue team played Ballinasloe last Monday (22nd) in Division 2 and came out eventual winners after a closely contested affair. The u12 Yellow team played Naomh Mhuire on Saturday in Division 4 and after a tough game, they narrowly lost out to a very good Naomh Mhuire. Well done to all the girls wjo played over the last week.
Last Thursday say the 2023 Raftery Cup competition come to an end. It was attended by a fantastic crowd which added to the atmosphere. Sylane NS won the Plate final, St. Colman’s won the Shield final and a huge congratulations to Annagh Hill NS who won the Raftery Cup final after a 34 year gap since their last title. Congratulations to all the players and teachers for reaching their respective final.
