SYMPATHY

The club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who have died recently:

Mary Costello, Carrowbeg

Don Crotty, Northampton, UK, brother in law of Liz Scahill, Ballinacregg

Ben Kelly, Kilnadeema/Taylors Hill, Galway brother of Angela Higgins, Cloonkeen

Seán Nolan, Clough, Cummer. Seán was the first man from the parish to raise a trophy in Croke Park when he captained St Jarlath’s to a Hogan Cup success over Gormanstown. His versatility as a footballer is highlighted by the fact he variously featured at full-back, midfield and full-forward during that campaign. A year later he played a pivotal role when Corofin bridged the gap from 1946 when capturing the County Junior title. He was the captain of the team in 1963 when they again won that title and, in the process, regained Senior status which has never been relinquished since. The following year Seán played in the County Senior Final with his brothers Padraig and Cathal. Seán, like many others, continued a lifetime of service as a Player, Club Officer, Selector, Manager and in recent years as a Vice -President. He took a keen interest in all Corofin teams and relished the scarcely believable success of the Club in recent years.

Sympathies to their family and friends.

May they rest in peace.
