GAMES

Friday evening say the Junior team hosting Athenry in Corofin pitch for their Final round in Group B of the Junior Championship North. The lads played well in the 1st half but a 2nd half goal for Athenry followed by a quick reaction goal-line saved the other end gave Athenry the momentum to see out the game as comfortable winners on a scoreline of 0-08 to 1-11. Hard luck to the Players and Management Team ion the night but they have retained their Junior status for next year thanks to their impressive 7 point win over Ballinasloe two weeks ago.

On Sunday afternoon the Intermediate team travelled to Kenny Park, Athenry to play Glenamaddy in their final round of Group 1. Despite poor conditions, the lads competed well with Glenamaddy’s 1st team, however a strong finish from Glenamaddy saw them maintain their 100% record in the group with the scoreline finishing 0-5 to 1-9. The team had already qualified for the Quarter Finals and the draw was held later that evening. The Intermediates have been drawn to play their Quarter Final against St Brendan’s on Saturday 24th September in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe at 2:00pm.

The Senior team play their rescheduled Round 3 fixture against An Spidéal in Pearse Stadium tomorrow evening in Pearse Stadium at 6:15pm. Next Sunday the Seniors play their final round of Group 1 against Tuam Stars at 4:45pm in Tuam Stadium.

The U-19’s host Tuam Stars on Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in Corofin pitch for their final round fixture of their A North Championship. Hopefully the lads can maintain their 100% record in the Championship.

Best of luck to all the Players and Management team for their fixtures this week and over the weekend.
