GAMES

Galway Senior Hurlers had a great win against Cork on Saturday in Thurles, 2-19 to 1-21. Well done to Henry Shefflin, Daithí Burke and Co and we wish them the very best of luck in their next game against Limerick in Croke Park on Sunday, 3rd July at 3:30pm.

Our Senior team enjoyed a well grafted win on Friday night in their Division 1 League Semi-Final against Milltown, 1-13 to 1-11. A first half goal from Matthew Cooley gave the team a great boost to build their performance on. They are now through to the Final against Annaghdown. Fixture details to be confirmed.

On Saturday The Junior A team travelled to Ballymacward to play a strong Padraig Pearses. A difficult opening 15 mons saw Padraig Pearses score 1-4 without reply which couldn’t be recovered. Final score 1-15 to 1-5. Their next game against Tuam Stars in Corofin on Friday at 8pm.

The Intermediates hosted Micheál Breathnachs on Sunday afternoon in Corofin for their Division 3A League Play-Off. It was a very competitive with Micheál Breathnachs enjoying a purple patch just before half time, scoring 5 unanswered points. This proved the difference as the game finished 0-11 to 0-14.

Later on Sunday, the Junior C team hosted Glenamaddy’s 2nd team in Belclare. Glenamaddy were strong favourites coming into the game and really pulled ahead in the second half. Credit to our players who fought right to the final whistle. Full-time score 0-5 to 4-10. Their next game is away to Caherlistrane the weekend of the 1st July.

UNDERAGE NOTES

The U7’s played a blitz in Tuam Stars last Tuesday evening (14th June). There was plenty of skill and talent on display, it was great to see all the boys have such a great time. Thank you to Tuam Stars for hosting.

Our U9’s have been training non-stop for over a year and on Sunday their coaches were delighted to reward them for their commitment by giving them the chance to participate in a blitz organised by St John’s in Sligo. Two teams were fielded in the blitz and everyone got their chance to showcase the progress they have made. The future certainly looks bright!
