CLUB NOTES

On Friday the Junior team hosted Barna at Corofin pitch in Round 4 of Division 4B. It was competitive game but goals made the difference as Barna came out victorious with a scoreline of 4-12 to 0-15.

On Saturday the Senior team hosted Tuam Stars at Corofin pitch in Round 5 of Division 1. A good crowd at the pitch to take advantage of the sunny weather and both teams produced an entertaining game. Again, goals were the difference at full-time as Corofin won 2-13 to 0-13. Goals from Martin Farragher and Tony Gill. The next fixture for the Seniors is away to An Cheathrú Rua the weekend of 22nd May.

On Sunday the Intermediates hosted Oranmore-Maree at Corofin Pitch in Round 5 of Division 3A. Both teams were evenly matched and nothing could separate them in the end as the game ended up in a draw, Corofin 1-14 Oranmore-Maree 2-11. The next fixture for the Intermediates is away to Kilkerrin-Clonberne the weekend of 22nd May.

Congratulations to the Galway Footballers Management Team and Players as they beat Leitrim in the Connacht Senior Championship Semi-Final on Sunday in Pearse Stadium. Once again the Club are very proud of the performances by Corofin players Liam Silke, Dylan McHugh and Kieran Molloy. Their Connacht Final is fixed for Sunday, 29th May at 1:45pm against Roscommon at Pearse Stadium.

 

Best of luck to the Daithí Burke, Galway Hurlers Management Team and Players as they play Loais in the Leinster Hurling Championship on Saturday, 14th May at 5pm at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise.

UNDERAGE NOTES

Rounds 3, 4 and 5 of the Raftery Cup National School competition continued in Belclare last Wednesday morning. Round 3 saw wins for Annaghill, Ballinderry 6, Castlehackett and St. Colmans. Round 4 saw wins for Annaghill, Ballinderry 6, St Colmans and Sylane. Round 5 sawy wins for Annaghill, Ballinderry 6, St Colmans and Sylane. After Round 5 Annaghill are top of the table with 10 points, Ballinderry 6 and Sylane just being them on 8 points each, followed closely by St Colmans on 6 points. Rounds 6 and 7 kick off in Belclare on Wednesday from 10am. All schools have displayed great footballing skills so far and the future of Corofin GAA Club is looking bright.

 

The U-13C team had a comfortable win over Tuam Stars in a sunny Belclare on Friday evening.

On Saturday our U-13B team had a very entertaining game against Kinvara, losing out to two late goals. Final score 5-11 to 4-7.

The U-13A team were defeated in Maree by Oranmore-Maree in a competitive game, 2-16 to 1-10.
