SYMPATHY:
The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of the following who died recently, Gerard Moran, Rathmore and Jimmy Glynn, Tavanagh. May they rest in peace.
Jimmy Glynn was a member of the Corofin minor team which brought the club its first title in 1962. The following year he played with the Corofin junior team which captured the county title ensuing that the club would be promoted to senior for 1964, a status they have maintained ever since. He was a sub on the Galway senior team in 1965 when they captured the second of the counties famous three in a row. However, Jimmy never received an All-Ireland medal as only five subs were presented with a medal. He won two National League titles with Galway in 1965 and again in 1967. In later years he played rugby with Corinthians, where he served as a player and later committee member becoming president of the club in the 1998-99 season. He also represented Connacht at interprovincial level.
