LADIES FOOTBALL

Our magnificent minor team are through to the Connacht Club Minor Final for the second year in a row having beaten Eastern Harps of Sligo 10-21 to 2-3 on Sunday morning. We had nine scorers today led by our Dream Team Senior Player of the Year Leanne Coen, who got 3-6. Louise Reilly bagged 2-3, Laura got 2-1, Amy O’Donovan scored 1-3, while Rachel & Katie got 1-2 each.   Aoife C, Amy C, Sarah & Aishling all scored a point each. There was also an impressive and very brave penalty save from Karen late in the second half.  This was a great team performance all round. Well done to everyone on the panel.

Congratulations to Dearbhla, Leanne, Tracey & Áine, our players selected for the Claregalway Hotel Senior Ladies Dream Team 2017.  Much to her great surprise and our delight Leanne also got the Senior Ladies Football Player of the Year award. Tracey resumed her place on the Dream Team after some great performances this year as she came back from injury in 2016. Áine was once again a great player for our Club & County.
