CLUB NOTES: We had a narrow win over Annaghdown by 0-11 to 1-7 in the County semi-final played in Tuam on Sunday. We now play Mountbellew-Moylough in the County Final in Tuam Stadium on Sunday 15 October. Mountbellew-Moylough had a big win over Monivea-Abbey in the other semi-final. The seniors return to action on Sunday when they play Salthill-Knocknacarra in the league, division 1, at 2.00 pm in the Priarie, Salthill. Our second adult team lost out to St Gabriel's in the Junior Football Championship North final in Mountbellew on Saturday. The full time score was Corofin 0-13 to St Gabriel's 0-15.
This team plays a division 3 league game against Athenry at 8.00 pm in Corofin on Friday evening. Well done to our U16 team who had an excellent win by 6-12 to 1-11 over St Gabriels in the Championship semi-final played in Corofin on Tuesday evening. The under 14 division 1 team lost to Oranmore-Maree by 1-7 to 3-10 in the County semi-final played in Corofin on Friday evening. The David Canney under 13 tournament was held in Belclare on Saturday morning. Teams from Donegal, Sligo, Mayo and Galway participated. Congratulations to Westport who were worthy winners of the competition, while Corofin were placed second in the competition. Many thanks to the underage committee for organising this very successful tournament. Our sincere thanks also to Seán, Geraldine, Kenneth and Shane Canney for their continuing support for this tournament.
