CLUB NOTES: Galway senior footballers advanced to face Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final following their 4-17 to 0-14 win over Donegal on Saturday evening in Markievicz Park, Sligo. Bernard Power, Liam Silke and Ian Burke all played vital parts in this win, well done lads. The All-Ireland semi-final takes place in Croke Park on Sunday with throw in at 2.00 pm. We play Caherlistrane in the league, division 1 at 7.00 pm on Saturday evening in Caherlistrane. Well done to our second adult team who defeated Mountbellew-Moylough by 2-9 to 0-9 in the Junior Football Championship North, played in Tuam Stadium on Sunday. Oisín Mannion and Dylan Canney scored the Corofin goals. Well done to everyone on topping the group in Under 16 division 1, North with a 2-16 to 1-10 win over Glenamaddy/Glinsk on Tuesday evening. Hard luck to our under 13s who were beaten in a thrilling county league final on a score line of Corofin 3-7 to Tuam Stars 3-9 played on Sunday evening in Tuam Stadium. The club offers it’s sympathy to Dick Holian, Ballybanagher whose brother Patrick Holian, Ballinrobe, died recently. May he rest in peace. LADIES FOOTBALL: In advance of Galway Ladies Footballers All-Ireland quarter-final against reigning All-Ireland champions Cork or Ulster finalists Monaghan on August 19, we are asking would you mind supporting Galway LGFA ‘Last Man Standing’.
