CLUB NOTES:

We send best wishes to our Club players on the Galway panel and to selector Brian Silke as Galway taken on Roscommon in the Connacht final at 2.00 pm on Sunday in Pearse Stadium.  The game is preceded at 12.00 pm by the minor final in which Galway play Sligo.  Galway minors had a good win over Roscommon in the semi-final played last week.  Oran Burke, Gavin Burke, Darragh Silke and Conor Newell all played their part in the victory.  Good luck to all in the final.

Our juniors continued their good run in the league (division 5, north) when they defeated Milltown by 4-15 to 2-13 on Friday evening in Corofin.

We lost to Killererin in the league division 3 by 1-9 to 1-16 in Bearnaderg on Saturday evening.

Our seniors defeated Killannin by 1-12 to 1-9 in the league division 1 played in Corofin on Sunday evening, with the Corofin goal from Martin Farragher in the 1st half.

Well done to the Galway hurlers and to Daithí Burke who captured the Leinster hurling title defeating Wexford in the final.

Congratulations to Stephen Hession, manager of the Galway ladies under 14 team who defeated Kerry to win the All-Ireland played in Nenagh on Saturday.  Well done also to Lorraine McTigue, selector and panel members Ciara Coen, Roisín Delaney, Emily O’Connor and Caoimhe Kelly.

We had a busy morning in Belclare on Saturday as under 7, 8, 9 and 10 teams hosted Castlebar Mitchels. Sincere thanks to everybody who helped on the day. We give a special mention to those who brought food or helped out in the kitchen.  A special word of thanks to the players who played very well and give their all, well done.
