CLUB NOTES:

The seniors defeated An Cheathrú Rua by 1-14 to 0-10 in the preliminary quarter final of the Senior Football Championship on Saturday evening.  The teams went in level at half time with 6 points each. Ciarán Brady scored the Corofin goal towards the end of the second half.  Well done to the team and mentors.

Corofin have been drawn to play Tuam Stars in the quarter final of the Championship, with games taking place on the weekend of 10 / 11 September.

Our intermediate team have been drawn to play Clifden in the semi-finals of the relegation play-off.  The other semi-final features St. Brendan’s against Ballinasloe.

The Junior C Championship game in which Corofin play Glenamaddy takes place in Glenamaddy at 7.00 pm on Friday evening.

The minors lost out to Claregalway in the Minor A North Football Championship on a scoreline of Corofin 2-6 to Claregalway 1-15.

Our under 15s had a comprehensive win over Annaghdown in the first round of the league on Sunday morning.           The team plays St. Gabriel's at 12.00 pm next Sunday morning in Corofin.

The Kevin Killeen tournament takes place next Saturday in Belclare starting at 10.00 am. We are asking parents if they can bring some refreshments, buns, sandwiches, crisps drinks etc. on the day. We also need volunteers to take turns at serving refreshments.

"Boot Exchange Programme – Starting Soon"

Do you have boots lying around garages, cupboards or just left behind, often in perfect condition?  We will be starting a boot exchange which will be open to boys and girls and will probably only really function up to the Under 12's level maximum.   Families can bring whatever boots they have around the house that they are not using /doesn’t fit to Belclare for passing on to other families.  Kids at that age fly through the sizes and it can be expensive to keep them in boots.  It will be a free exchange but we may well have a box available with an option (but not expectation) to donate.

At this stage we are planning that the exchange will commence in Belclare on Saturday 1 October from 9:30 to 10:30, so spread the word.

The Club offers its sympathy to Frank and Val Cooley on the death of their brother, Michael John Cooley Cloonmore Tuam and Manchester, to Oliver Miskell, Corofin on the death of his nephew Martin Miskell, Feigh and to the relatives of Michael Hession, Gortbeg who died last week. . May they rest in Peace.

Please Note

The prize amounts above are what each winner will receive.
