CLUB NOTES:

Well done to the intermediate team who defeated Oileáin Árainn in the league Division 3 on Friday evening by 3-10 to 1-11.

The senior team made it a double on Sunday when they defeated Mountbellew-Moylough in the league Division 1. Corofin went in at half time leading by 11 points to 1-5.  A well worked goal in the second half from Ian Burke ensured a well deserved victory for the team on a final score of 1-18 to 1-11.

The under 21 North Board final takes place in Tuam Stadium on Saturday  evening at 6pm.  We play Mountbellew-Moylough. Best of luck to the team.

Training for junior A and C continues every Wednesday and Friday. All are welcome. If you are new to the parish and want to play GAA please come along or if you haven't played football in a few years and want to take it up again please contact Keith Morris on (087) 6165602 or Derek Ryder on (085) 788 3364.

Congrats to the under 12 team that won the Enda Colleran tournament in Salthill on Sunday.  Hard luck to the team that represented us in the Pete Burke competition, who were beaten by the smallest of margins in the semi-finals.

The Easyfix league for the u12's is on Thursday.  Details will be texted later this week.

Training continues for under 6 to 10’s on Saturday morning at 10.00 in Belclare.

The club would like to congratulate our Club President Joe Flaherty and his wife Maureen on celebrating 50 years of marriage this weekend.

The Parish website, www.cummer.ie, was re-launched last week.  In addition to carrying Parish information, the website will also be updated regularly with local news and information.   The Corofin GAA Club Notes will continue to be published on the Parish website.

The Club sympathises with Rosaleen Molloy, Ballintubber and her family, on the death of Rosaleen’s father, Willie Joe Mannion, Barnaderg, RIP.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Gaelic4Girls has hit Corofin by storm, with over 40 girls from Corofin and the surrounding areas descending onto Belclare to be treated to 60mins of great fun and coaching in Ladies Gaelic Football every Wednesday. This programme continues for another 7 weeks every Wednesday evening from 6 - 7pm in Belclare on the all-weather pitch.  It is fantastic to see so many enthusiastic girls, who have little Gaelic Football experience enjoying themselves.

It is open to girls aged 8-12yrs who are not part of a Ladies Gaelic Football Club and who are interested in learning the skills of the game. All girls from Corofin and the surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and learn the skills of Ladies Gaelic Football from enthusiastic coaches. The girls will be taught the basic skills of Gaelic football on a fun basis and will get to demonstrate their new skills at a fun mini-blitz.  All girls will be presented with a Gaelic4Girls t-shirt and certificate. A major bonus from the programme is that all participants will get the chance to participate in a Mini Blitz with another Gaelic4Girls site after the 8 week program. The cost for the entire programme is only €8. Anybody who would like more details on this programme is asked to contact Catherine Silke at 087 6786717.
