NOTES:

Pride of place this week goes to our under 21 team who won the County U-21A championship on Saturday defeating An Cheathrú Rua by 1-15 to 1-3 with the Corofin goal coming from Patrick Madden in the first half.  The team have now completed a three-in-a-row of county titles and have won five of the last six county titles.  Well done to this exceptional bunch of players and to the team management on a tremendous achievement.

Congrats to Gary Sice, footballer of the year, Tracey Leonard, ladies footballer of the year and Mike Farragher on behalf of Corofin, team of the year, who all picked up their awards at a gala function in the Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill on Saturday night.

Special congratulations also to Tracey, who is the new captain of Galway Ladies Senior team. Best wishes for every success in your new role Tracey.

Well done to Galway footballers who defeated Roscommon in the FBD league final played in Tuam on Sunday.

Hard luck to Sylane hurlers who lost out to Eoghan Ruadh, Derry in the All-Ireland junior semi-final on a scoreline of Eoghan Rua 0-10 to Sylane 0-04.

Well done to Abbeyknockmoy Hurlers who defeated Kickhams Creggan by 1-13 to 0-10 in the All-Ireland intermediate semi final.
