NOTES:

The winning of two trophies at the weekend brought an incredibly successful year to a great end for the Club.  On Saturday our intermediate team captured the Division 4 league title following their 1-10 to 0-10 win over Williamstown in the replayed final.   Leading by 1-8 to 0-1 at half time, the team put in a spirited second half display against a strong wind to emerge deserving winners.  The team played their first league game on May 10 and only lost to the eventual Champions, Moycullen, in the championship semi-final.  Well done to all the players and the management team.  A special thanks to manager Michael Ryder and stand-in manager Jimmy Sice.

For the second year in a row we played the Division 1 league final on the Sunday before Christmas.  Having played with the wind in the first half we went in at the break leading St James’ by 0-7 to 0-2.  We withheld a spirited fight back from the city team to emerge victorious on a scoreline of Corofin 0-11 to St James’ 0-7.  This game brought an end to the remarkable three-year managerial reign of Stephen Rochford.  The club wishes to sincerely thank Stephen and to wish him every good luck in 2016 and the years ahead.

Best wishes to Kieran Fitzgerald and Emer Flaherty who are getting married next week.  All in the Club wish them a long and happy life together.

The Club offers its sincere sympathies to Marie and John Raftery and family on the death of Marie’s mother, Mrs Ann Brennan, RIP, Roscommon Town.

The Club extends every good wish for a happy and peaceful Christmas to all.  Nollaig shona daoibh go léir.
