MENS NOTES:

We play Castlebar Mitchels in the AIB Connacht Senior Football Championship Final in Tuam Stadium at 2.00 pm on Sunday.   This is a tremendous achievement by this group of players and their management team as they endeavour to retain their Connacht title.

We hope for great support for the team on Sunday in Tuam and we wish them the best of luck in the game.

On Sunday morning we are once again having our Fundraising Breakfast Morning, which takes place from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm in Raftery’s Pub.  So come along and meet old friends, discuss the game, enjoy a good breakfast and have a good run at the day.  Tickets, costing €10 for adults and €5 for under 14s, can be obtained from any committee members.

Our Intermediates defeated Glenamaddy in the league playoff on Saturday.  The game was played in atrocious conditions in Corofin and tremendous credit is due to both teams for serving up an entertaining game.  The full time score was Corofin 2-6 to Glenamaddy 0-5.  The Corofin scorers were Bernard Power 1-1, Ronan Burke 1-0, Alan O'Donovan 0-3, Colm O'Donovan 0-2.

Corofin have already been promoted to Division 3 and will play the league final against Williamstown.

The David Canney tournament for under 13s was postponed due to the bad weather.  It is hoped to run it again on the 28th of November.

As the Under 9 season has finished, the coaches Martin, John and Ralph would like to thank all parents for bringing the children all year without whom we would have no teams. You should all be very proud of your children as they were a lovely bunch to work with. So get them to keep up the practice during the winter (use that weaker leg) and we'll see them again in the spring.

The club would like to draw attention to an upcoming event entitled “Cycle against Suicide, Galway – Lets TRY to save one life”.  The cycle takes place on Saturday, November 21st.  Registration is from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at GMIT College, Galway. The cycle is 44 k leisurely; so let’s spread the message "That it's okay not to feel okay and it's absolutely okay to ask for help".  For further details contact Ciara at 087 7673421 (9pm to 10pm any day).
