CLUB NOTES

Our senior team got their season underway last Thursday evening with a 3-17 to 1-04 victory over Greencastle in the Jim Devlin Cup. This Friday they host Moortown at 8:00 p.m. on the training pitch.

Our U18’s lost out 1-15 to 1-07 at home to Carrickmore last Sunday.

The U14 boys lost out 5-05 to 2-13 away to Trillick last Saturday, this Saturday they host Loughmacrory in Pairc Gheardhromma at 11:00 a.m. while the U14 Development team are due to host Omagh afterwards at 12:30.

Youth coaching for U6.5, U8.5 and U10.5 gets underway this Saturday at 10:00 a.m., all youth players must be registered to take part, if not already registered there will be an opportunity to do so on Saturday morning from 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the changing rooms, registration fee for youth’s is £10. There is a link on Facebook and sent through the youth groups on Whatsapp where you can sign up online also and in addition there will be forms available to get and return in Montague’s Shop.

Our Gaeilge do Pháistí mornings finished up last Saturday, it was great to see the children picking up new words every week. Seachtaine na Gaeilge has now finished, we had a number of events to mark it this year. Our final event was held at The Coffee Morning in Halla Naomh Phádraig along with Comhaltas An Droma Mhóir on Lá Fhéile Pádraig. We also held a collection on Monday morning, as part of our participation in FSMD. Our Ranganna Gaelige, Irish language classes continue on Monday evenings in St. John’s School, Bun Rang (beginners) is from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and Mean Rang (Intermediate) is also from 7:00-8:00 p.m., everyone welcome to come along and join the ever growing Irish language speaking community in Droim Mór.

We wish Seamus Mc Quaid luck on Sunday, as he takes part in the Scór Ulster Semi-final in Banbridge.
