Congratulations to our Jackpot winner last Thursday, Bernard McMahon won our €15,000 Jackpot! The coming week's draw is in Russell Park on Thursday 15th June. The Jackpot will be €3,200. This week is Minileagues week, come down and watch the fun. Games for U6s start at 6.30 on Monday and Thursday, Games for U8s start at 6.30 on Tuesday and Friday. Games for U10 start at 8.00 on Monday and at 7.30 on Thursday, and games for U12/13 start at 7.30 on Tuesday and 8.00 on Friday. Finals day is Saturday, games start with U6 at 1.00, running through to u12/13 at 4.00. Junior C Championship Quarterfinal is home on Tuesday at 7.30 on All-Weather, wishing St Brigids the very best. On last Saturday the Handball Section held a hugely successful 10th Anniversary tournament to remember and honour two of its past handballing heroes – Julie Long and Shay O’Reilly. The winners of the A, B and C grades were respectively Terry McElvaney and Cian O’Dalaigh, Sabrina Hughes and Eddie McCavitt and Joanne McAndrew and Dara Cloake. The format was a handball doubles competition, followed by an exhibition match between two of Ireland’s finest young 1-wall talents and an after-party which proved a great occasion for contemporaries of Julie and Shay to recall their exploits and fun times, all in all a brilliant day.
